The South West Cyber Resilience Centre was delighted to be part of not one, but two fantastic cyber security focused workshops hosted by one of our valued Community Ambassadors, Acronyms, in partnership with the Cornwall Law Society and the Plymouth Law Society. These events brought together legal professionals from across the South West who share a common goal: strengthening their understanding of cyber security to build cyber resilience for their organisation.
Throughout both sessions, participants explored the most common cyber threats affecting the legal sector and gained important insights into the steps every firm should be taking to improve their defences.

We were also joined by another one of our fantastic Communtiy Ambassadors, Securious, who delivered an engaging talk on the Cyber Essentials certification. Their session highlighted how this simple yet effective scheme can protect firms from the most common cyber threats and why it’s a great starting point for building cyber resilience.

Adding an element of interactive fun, the SW ROCU (South West Regional Organised Crime Unit) hosted a Cyber Escape Room, giving attendees the chance to put their cyber knowledge to the test in a creative way. It’s always a brilliant reminder that learning about cyber resilience isn’t dull – it can be fun, engaging, and team-focused!
All in all, it was a fantastic few days filled with learning, collaboration, and practical cyber awareness — exactly what cyber resilience in the South West is all about.

By understanding the challenges, priorities, and opportunities businesses are facing, we can better tailor the support, guidance, and services we offer to them across the South West.
This is where our community can really make a difference. By taking just a few minutes to complete the shot survey, businesses of all sizes can play a crucial role in shaping how we build a more cyber resilient South West.
